Marina F. M. Santana

I am oceanographer with background in anthropogenic impacts on marine environments and organisms, focused on marine debris and microplastics since 2011. I am particularly interested in microplastic presence and abundance in abiotic and biotic compartments of marine ecosystems, and on environmentally and ecologically relevant effects of microplastics to organisms. My research outputs are used to inform multi-stakeholders, policy and regulatory decision makers, always seeking to deliver real-world impacts.
