Lorenzo Ricolfi
Greetings! My name is Lorenzo, and my academic focus is examining the profound ramifications of environmental pollutants on human and wildlife well-being. I obtained my Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Natural and Environmental Sciences from La Sapienza, the esteemed University of Rome in Italy. To further enhance my expertise in this field, I pursued a post-graduate and professional course in Environmental Pollution and Human Health at the University of Genoa.
During this time, I embarked on an international venture, shuttling between the south of Mozambique and various destinations, as part of a project to evaluate environmental contamination and human exposure to hazardous heavy metals like mercury and uranium.
In February 2022, I proudly joined the Inter-Disciplinary Ecology and Evolution Lab at the University of New South Wales, where I now work as a fellow PhD student. My research encompasses using research synthesis and meta-analysis techniques to analyse the impacts of PFAS environmental pollutants on human and wildlife health.
While immersing myself in this academic pursuit, I have also been fortunate enough to explore the vast Australian continent, acquainting myself with its rich history and diverse cultural tapestry.
Beyond my academic endeavours, I find solace and fulfilment in various recreational activities. Hiking, swimming, and wildlife spotting are passions that invigorate and inspire me.
